Make money blogging! Is it true?
The direct answer is yes. Make money blogging is true, and maybe you can do it anywhere you live in the world.
But the amount of money you can make differs.
For others, it could be a full-time income… but in my case, it is just a small amount of money but valuable enough that can afford some of our basic needs, like baby diapers, etc.
I have been in the blogging industry for several years, I have been setting up a blog since 2012. However, I was not focused enough to bring it to the next level.
My focus back then, and even until now is building WordPress, not building content. That is why I am more of a WordPress front-end developer than a blogger.
What is my problem?
To be honest, I am afraid of writing. I am afraid of making a mistake or sounding like so amateur with what I write, etc. In other words, I have no confidence.
I am always thinking that there are so many brilliant bloggers already and how could I penetrate the market?
That question alone died me out.
It did not improve as a blogger but rather died my interest completely. With that question, I was not able to write more content and it hinders me to jot my ideas down on the WordPress editor.
To be honest, I have several ideas worth shouting on the blogosphere. However, my lack of confidence and the idea of being perfect blocks me completely from doing that.
Okay, so let me go back to my topic: How I make money with my old WordPress blog?
That blog was a failure back then, but I kept it. One reason is that it has so much sentimental value to me. But keeping it was not a waste of money (hosting, domain) — rather generate some amount of cash every month (not stable though).
I accept articles and publish it there. If you are going to look at it, it was like I frequently write content, but I didn’t.
That is just one possibility of making money with a WordPress blog — how much more if I have continued exerting efforts on making it shine?
Just a side note, accepting paid guest post could be dangerous to your site (you know, I am talking about the complicated SEO, etc.), but I am always careful and I do review content submitted for publication and I reject if necessary to maintain my blog’s credibility.
So keeping my old WordPress blog was not a wrong decision!
I am a busy person and my schedule became very hectic came my precious son, Kieper Seege! So you know, I have 2.5-year-old twins and a 3-week healthy baby boy! Blogging?! Haha!
Keeping a blog and maintaining it with my current situation sometimes is exhausting. Yet right now, see, I was able to scribble my thought without hesitation… without thinking “do I sound perfect”?
I know I can’t, and if I want to sound like a university textbook, then blogging is not for me.
If you are new to blogging, you might ask yourself: Can I make money blogging too in 2018?
The answer is yes if I am making a small amount of money by just keeping and hosting an old WordPress blog, why can’t you?
There are so many resources in blogging right now… it’s just up to you!
Right now, I just want to be me and I just want to sound like myself: imperfect.
A really nice one to read if you are planning blogging out your ideas…
